Cookies Policy

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are saved in your browser and make it possible to store certain data from web pages and browser sessions. Maggiore uses certain cookies generated and used by the Maggiore website as well as third-party cookies generated on our site by others. Cookies allow us to save every element of your booking when you enter the site and show you the most suitable content based on the options you choose and according to your browsing. Cookies help us to make your browsing more efficient.

A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from the user’s hard drive (your hard drive) or pass on computer viruses or acquire email addresses. Every cookie is unique for the user’s web browser. Cookies are only able to store text content, always anonymous and usually encrypted. Maggiore never stores any personal information in cookies

Maggiore uses technical cookies and third-party profiling cookies.

What are technical cookies? What are they used for?
Pursuant to and in compliance with the Privacy Code, Maggiore informs you that on the Maggiore and AmicoBlu websites technical cookies are used needed for browsing on the sites as they allow the use of essential functions such as authentication, validation and management of a browsing session.
The cookies used by Maggiore on the Maggiore and AmicoBlu websites are particularly useful for authenticating the user, for monitoring sessions and for saving specific technical information on users accessing the server. It may not be possible to access some of the website functions without the cookies defined as “technical” because they are technically necessary for the session to work properly. For example, accessing the reserved areas of the site and the subsequent actions performed by the user, once the areas have been accessed, would be much more complex to carry out and less secure without the presence of technical cookies that make it possible to identify the user and maintain that identification during the web session (without having to enter the access credentials every time a new page opens within the same session).
We mainly use “session” technical cookies as the data stored is used solely within that work session and is cancelled as soon as the user leaves the site. Technical cookies are used for example when you place an item in the shopping cart as part of making an online booking and include authentication cookies and customisation cookies (for example, to choose the browsing language or for calling up the ID and password complete with the initial characters already filled in).
Social plug-ins are elements such as the Like, Share and Comment buttons and other tools that allow you to share your experience on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin with your friends and other people subscribing to the same social network. The social plug-ins found on pages allow the selected social network to collect data on your visit. These buttons therefore mean that third-party cookies are installed. However, no browsing information or user data acquired from the user is exchanged with these social plug-ins. Maggiore does not use social network plug-ins.
Pursuant to article 122, paragraph 1 of the Data Protection Code (Legislative Decree no.196 dated 30 June 2003) and in compliance with Opinion 04/2012 - WP 194 on cookie consent exemption adopted on 7 June 2012 by the working party set up under article 29 of Directive 95/46/CE), the technical cookies used by Maggiore on its websites may also be used without the consent of the interested party when they are of the following types:
- user input cookies (session-ID), for the duration of a session or persistent cookies limited to a few hours in some cases;
- authentication cookies, used for authenticated services, for the duration of a session;
- user centric security cookies, used to detect authentication abuses, for a limited persistent duration;
- load balancing session cookies, for the duration of a session;
- User Interface customisation persistent cookies, for the duration of a session (or slightly more);
The technical cookies used by Maggiore also include so-called "analytics" cookies that are used solely for statistical purposes (and not for profiling or marketing) and which collect and compile aggregate information on the number of users and how they use the website, without any information about the individual user being collected. These are useful for helping us to remember your settings and preferences for future visits, if the visit takes place within a short timeframe, in order to make accreditation easier (these are “persistent” technical cookies). To install these cookies, in compliance with ruling of the Italian Data Protection Authority (the “Garante”) on 8 May 2014, the prior consent of the user is not required, while the obligation remains inform the user, pursuant to art. 13 of the Data Protection Code. Google analytics cookies and other technical cookies can nevertheless always be disabled by following the procedures given in this document under the browser settings option.

What are third-party cookies? What are they used for?
While browsing on the Maggiore and AmicoBlu websites, you may also receive on your computer cookies from sites or web servers other than Maggiore directly from the relative websites (so-called “third-party” cookies). This happens because elements may be present on the Maggiore and AmicoBlu sites such as, for example, images, maps, specific links to the web pages of other domains residing on servers that are different from the one you are on and so these are set and managed directly by the organisations running these websites or server (not Maggiore and AmicoBlu).
In such cases, Maggiore is unrelated to the operation of such cookies, whose submission is the responsibility of the third parties involved, who are also the data controllers. These cookies are not installed by Maggiore and cannot be categorised as "technical". They are used to analyse behaviour for marketing purposes (so-called profiling) and your consent is required to use these cookies.

In compliance with the Data Protection Code, we therefore inform you that the Maggiore and AmicoBlu websites contain the persistent cookie known as Google Adwords. This cookie falls within the category of third-party cookies and is owned by Google Inc., the controller of the relative data. The maximum period that data collected though Google Adwords can be kept is 12 months (in compliance with the directions of the DPA “Garante”).
The personal information collected by operation of the Google Adwords cookie can be processed, by automated/computerised means but always anonymously and, more specifically, by the following methods for the following purposes:
Google AdWords is a service that allows Google and its affiliated sites to view advertising messages suited to the needs of the user by means of a tracking and profiling system for marketing purposes which also uses the key words entered by the user while searching online (keywords). Google Adwords can also be used for remarketing purposes. This makes it possible to show customised messages and ads to users who have already visited your website or used the mobile app and that are consistent with the searches already carried out.

Consent for the use of cookies and treatment of personal details collected using cookies.
In order for third-party profiling cookies to be used and subsequently your personal details process for the purposes outlined above, you must give your consent. Pursuant to art. 23 of the Data Protection Code the consent must be informed, expressed, freely-given, specific, documented and give in advance. Consent to this type of treatment is entirely optional and can also be expressed in a selective manner. Maggiore obtains your consent on its sites by means of the banner that appears on your first visit. Consequently, where the user decides to give specific consent, he or she must be previously informed and made aware that the aims of the subsequent treatment are specifically related to advertising, promotional and marketing purposes, including for example for the purposes of studies, research and marketing statistics.
This consent can be revoked at any time by ticking the relative check box. Denying consent to use profiling cookies will not interfere with the possibility of accessing the Maggiore and Amico Blu websites and will only mean that Maggiore and/or any third-parties cannot proceed with processing the data, although it may become impossible for the user to access functions or content that use cookies for which consent has been refused.
By using cookies Maggiore never accesses your confidential data. For more information read our Privacy Policy.
